Day 1: Arrival in Yerevan

Arrival in Yerevan. Meet & transfer to the hotel for check in. Day at leisure.

Day 2: Yerevan City tour - History Museum of Armenia - Vernissage



Breakfast at the hotel. Yerevan City tour – Yerevan sightseeing, including City center, Republic square, Yerevan State University, City panorama, “Mother Armenia” Monument, Parliament House, President’s Residence, Opera House, Sports & Concert Complex, Tsitsernakaberd memorial complex (Armenian Genocide memorial complex). Visit Cascade complex, which is considered the modern art center of Yerevan, with art pieces displayed throughout the whole area: the boulevard and up the stairs, from the top of which you can enjoy the panoramic view of the city and Mountain Ararat. Cascade is home to Cafesjian modern art museum. Visit History Museum of Armenia. Visit Vernissage open air market of handicrafts.

Day 3: Yerevan – Khor Virap – Areni Winery– Noravank – Jermuk



Breakfast at the hotel. Check out from the hotel.

Visit Khor Virap Monastery. To this day you can visit the underground chamber where St. Gregory the Illuminator, the first Armenia’s Patriarch, was imprisoned for 13 years before curing King Trdat III of a disease. This caused the conversion of the king and Armenia into the first officially Christian nation in the world in the year 301. Its location, near the closest point to Mount Ararat within Armenian borders, offers a spectacular view of the mountain, the national symbol of Armenia. Then we will drive to Areni Winery, degustation and presentation of local wine. Proceed to Noravank Monastery (13-14th centuries), an architectural gemstone nestled among brick-red cliffs, just above a deep gorge. Then drive to Jermuk.

Day 4: Jermuk – Gndevank - Lake Sevan - Yerevan



Breakfast at the hotel and check out. You will see the amazing Waterfall of Jermuk called “Mermaid’s Hair”, which flows into the river Arpa. There is a wonderful belief about this waterfall according to the legend. Then visit 10th century monastery Gndevank, which was built by Princess Sephia of Syunik. She stated the purpose of her building the monastery as: “Vayots Dzor was a ring without a jewel but I built this monastery as the jewel for the ring“. Drive to Lake Sevan, the largest lake in Armenia and one of the largest high-altitude lakes in the world, situated at 1900 m above sea level. A famous writer has poetically characterized Sevan, “A genuine piece of sky, dropped down on earth among mountains”. Visiting the Monastery of Sevanavank (9th century), which is located on the peninsula.
